Netflix is getting in on the exclusive merch game.
Yesterday, as part of its virtual Geeked Week fan event, the OG streaming service launched Netflix.shop, an online shop that will offer limited-edition merchandise inspired by popular Netflix original shows and movies.
The offerings on this platform will come in the form of collaborations, with artists and designers creating exclusive, curated collections of apparel, decorative items, and collectibles.
At launch, the store is offering four collections inspired by its anime titles. The Hypland x Yasuke apparel collection, created by Jordan Bentley, featured hoodies and T-shirts that put a street-style spin on the anime series. There is another apparel collection too, from Japanese company BEAMS. It includes four tops inspired by the upcoming Netflix anime series Eden.Â
On the collectibles side, Netflix partnered with Nathalie Nguyen. Her collection features an Eden-inspired kendama and a Yasuke HRT clock. Finally, fans can snag matte-black (and blood-dusted) chains, pendants, and a bust from artist Kristopher Kites, all inspired by Yasuke.
The Netflix.shop is designed to be a very visual shopping experience, with large, artistic imagery and video supplementing each collection.
This is just the start for Netflix.shop: According to an official release from the streaming platform, products inspired by fan-favorites Stranger Things and The Witcher will join the platform soon, along with new Netflix logo-wear from BEAMS.
Head to netflix.shop now to check out and preorder these exclusive offerings.
