Netflix will begin streaming the new TV series The Umbrella Academy on Feb. 15.
The star-studded cast includes Ellen Page as Vanya, Mary J. Blige as Cha-Cha, Kate Walsh as The Handler, Cameron Britton as Hazel, Adam Godley as Pogo, Colm Feore as Sir Reginald Hargreeves, Tom Hopper as Luther, David Castañeda as Diego, Emmy Raver-Lampman as Allison, Robert Sheehan as Klaus, Aidan Gallagher as Number Five, John Magaro as Leonard Peabody, and Ashley Madekwe as Detective Patch.
Former lead vocalist of My Chemical Romance Gerard Way and comic book artist Gabriel Bá will co-executive produce The Umbrella Academy along with Jeff King, Keith Goldberg, and Mike Richardson. Steve Blackman will serve as an executive producer, as well as a showrunner for the series.
The upcoming show is an adaptation of the comic book series from Gerard Way, Gabriel Bá, and Dark Horse Comics.
The story follows six children, who were all born to random women with no signs of pregnancy the day before. A billionaire adopts them and establishes The Umbrella Academy to train his super children to save the world. The dysfunctional superhero family later reunites to solve the mystery surrounding their father’s death. The siblings continue to grow apart due their conflicting personalities and super powers as the world heads toward the apocalypse.
