Mattel is dropping an exclusive Little People Collector The Lord of The Rings Weathertop Set and it is sure to be the most “precious” piece in your collection.
Part of the ongoing Little People Gold Label series, the set depicts Frodo, Sam, Merry, and Pippin at the Battle at Weathertop as they are confronted by Ringwraiths, but reimagined in the signature Little People style.
The window packaging features gold foil accents and a special light-up component.
Inside are four 2.5-inch figures, each holding a weapon of defense: Merry and Pippin with knives, Frodo with the ring, and — of course — Sam with his frying pan. The display features a cardboard background, depicting menacing Ringwraiths lurking behind the hobbits.
What makes this set really stand out is the Frodo figure, which depicts him in his “invisible” form. Once the battery-operated light is switched on, the translucent Frodo figure is illuminated to mimic the moment he slips the ring on, becomes invisible, and sees the Ringwraiths as ancient kings. The switch is located on the back of the package so dedicated collectors don’t have to worry about opening the box or removing the figures.
