Harry Potter New Edition

Remember every time a new Harry Potter book would come out, and fans would eagerly line up at their nearest bookstore for a midnight release?

Thanks to a new edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, from Scholastic, fans might just get that magical feeling that only comes with getting a brand-new HP book again.

This innovative edition of the first book in the iconic series was designed and illustrated by the award-winning design studio MinaLima Design, best known for creating the visual graphic style of the Harry Potter film franchise.

The book includes brilliant, colorful illustrations on nearly every page, as well as eight interactive papercraft features fit for any witch or wizard. Readers can open the elaborately folded Hogwarts letter (finally, the letter we have all been waiting for!); see a Diagon Alley shopping list; reveal the magical entryway to Diagon Alley; open a die-cut, fold-out Hogwarts Castle; make a sumptuous feast appear in the Great Hall; and more.

Eduardo Lima and Miraphora Mina, founders of MinaLima Design, say:

“Twenty years of designing for the Wizarding World have come full circle in this extraordinary opportunity to depict Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in a whole new way. From creating Harry’s Hogwarts acceptance letter for the first film to envisioning his world for this new illustrated edition, MinaLima’s many invitations to visualize this fantastic universe never cease to beguile. We have sought to bring together our artistry with J.K. Rowling’s singular storytelling to offer the reader a completely fresh experience of this now new classic work.”

The Hermione-approved book will be available on Oct. 20 for $37.99. Check your go-to bookstore for availability.
