New Zealand Mint is known for its collectible coin offerings featuring favorite franchises such as Disney, Hasbro, Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, Star Trek, and more. It simultaneously operated in silver and gold bullion trading, but is planning to concentrate on its precious metal collectibles with a rebrand to the name Agoro.
Agoro is a combination of Ag (the periodic table’s symbol for silver) and oro (“gold” in Spanish and Italian). The new brand will maintain partnerships with popular pop culture icons, and is even expanding into the world of sports. The company has plans for collectibles featuring Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and Major League Baseball (MLB).
New Zealand Mint got its start more than 50 years ago, establishing itself as a go-to in the world of gold and silver trading. The company was the first to create licensed, legal-tender Disney coins, and has since leaned heavily into pop culture collectibles.
