Hiya Barbie, you want to go for a ride?
The Barbie Pop-Up Truck is back, proving that life in plastic is even more glamorous than Aqua’s iconic song made it seem. This time, the truck has a whole new ‘70s beachy look, with the Malibu Barbie logo overlaid on a sunset beach across its sides. Offering a literal truckload of new and exclusive retro-inspired Barbie gear to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Malibu Barbie, the 2021 Barbie Malibu Tour is sure to be groovy.
The Pop-Up Truck will offer a variety of Malibu Barbie beach apparel and accessories, including a Barbie-logo embroidered denim jacket, a pink Barbie-logo hoodie, a tie-dye bucket hat, a ringer T-shirt, an embroidered patch set, an enamel pin set, a burlap shopper tote, a stainless thermal bottle, a beach towel, and a Malibu Barbie necklace. All the Barbie gear ranges in price from $12-75.
Besides all the things fans can buy and the many Instagrammable photo opportunities, the tour will also feature giveaways and a popsicle stand to beat the summer heat. Plus, the Barbie Malibu Truck will have safety measures in place to make sure the experience is COVID-friendly. More information will be available soon via the Barbie Truck Tour webpage.
The Barbie Malibu Pop-Up Truck will kick off in Santa Monica on Aug. 7 from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. at Santa Monica Place. The truck will be parked at the intersection of 3rd and Broadway, between Tesla and Nike.
If you don’t live in Santa Monica, no worries — the Pop-Up Truck will also be doing a Southern California tour, hitting San Diego on Aug. 14, Irvine on Aug. 21, and Long Beach on Aug. 28. After that, Miss Barbie goes national, hitting cities all throughout the U.S. We can’t wait to celebrate the end of summer with America’s most-loved California gal.
