When Netflix surprisingly cancelled Daredevil late last year, fans started doing everything they could to bring the show back to life.

To help the cause, they created an online petition filed on Change.org and titled “Bring back Daredevil! #SaveDaredevil.” It already garnered 211,288 of its requested 300,000 signatures.

What’s even more surprising is that it’s not just fans taking action. In an interview with The Playlist, Daredevil star Charlie Cox revealed that he signed the petition himself under an anonymous identity.

“I wasn’t sure about adding my email because I’m not very technically savvy, and I didn’t want to suddenly put my email online; I don’t know if it’s visible or not,” Cox says. “But what I did do is I made a fake email for my two-year-old daughter, and she signed it.”

Since the series’ cancellation, Cox expressed his desire to play Daredevil again.

“It’s such a dream job for me, it’s been such a wonderful experience, that any scenario where I get to continue playing the character, whether it be on a different series, or whether it be in the movies, would be fantastic. I can only hope. It’s almost like I can’t think about it because I don’t wanna get my hopes up.”

While it’s unlikely that Netflix revives the fan-favorite series, you gotta love Cox’ passion for the role.
