Dragon Ball FighterZ may already feature playable versions of Goku and Vegeta, but neither of them are styled like the classic, more basic characters. But by the looks of their debut trailers and the game’s premium downloadable content, Base Goku and Base Vegeta are back.

In the Base Vegeta trailer, fans might notice his brown tail, which all Saiyans are born with. Vegeta can use this tail to transform into an ape-looking creature, and the design is reminiscent of the base character design.

Meanwhile, Base Goku will retain the lighthearted spirit of the character that slowly disappeared as Dragon Ball Z progressed.

For longtime fans Goku and Vegeta’s original revival will offer great nostalgia to Dragon Ball Z’s earliest days.
