You already may have a collection of Funko Pop! figures, and you may already collect trading cards featuring your favorite athletes in action. But now, these two iconic collectibles are fusing for a whole new collecting experience.
Today, sports and entertainment collectibles company Panini America announced that it will partner with Funko for a new product line called Funko Pop! Trading Cards. The new collectibles will be similar to Funko’s Pop! Albums and Pop! Comic Covers lines. Each Pop! Trading Cards design will feature Panini Prizm trading card art packaged with a Pop! vinyl figure that is replicating the player’s pose on the featured trading card. Both components will be together in a protective case that sports and/or Funko enthusiasts can hang on the wall.
The initial collection will feature six NBA players and six NFL players, with plans to extend across additional sports. The initial selection of Pop! Trading Card styles will be available at retail in time for the holiday shopping season.
