Almost 20 years ago, the Games for Change Festival first gave fans, experts, innovators, and developers a space to come together and champion real-world change through video games. Since then, the idea that games can change the world has spread across the globe.
Next year, the 20th annual Games for Change Festival will be hosted at Times Center in New York City from July 18-20. The in-person event will feature industry experts presenting research on the impact of gaming, perspectives, and predictions for the future of gaming and immersive media. The XR for Change Summit will also return for a full-day display of the future social impact of immersive experiences.
This year’s Games for Change Festival, which took place in July, featured topics like metaverse healthcare, in-game NFTs, and raising the next generation of game developers.
If you have ideas or want to see specific talks and panels at next year’s event, the call for submissions is open now. Submissions for the Games for Change Awards will open next month, while festival registration will open early next year.
