Say hello to Hello Kitty non-fungible tokens (NFTs)! The beloved Sanrio character is the latest pop culture icon to get the digital collectible treatment, thanks to a new partnership between Sanrio and NFT creator-slash-retailer Recur.
Thanks to the Sanrio x Recur deal, Hello Kitty fans will be able to buy, collect, and trade digital collectibles featuring the character starting early next year. Recur’s NFTs are marketed as both eco-friendly and “blockchain agnostic,” meaning that they are interoperable across different blockchains.
Hello Kitty is the latest addition to Recur’s planned lineup of licensed digital collectibles, which also includes Rugrats, TMNT, Star Trek, Mean Girls, The Godfather, college sports teams, and more.
Also, on Dec. 9, fans will be able to purchase a “Portal Pass” from Recur. This NFT will be available for just 24 hours and will offer early access to the company’s entire library of collectibles and experiences. Interested collectors can get additional information about the pass and Recur in general at recurforever.com or on the Recur Discord.
