Luke Perry and molly ringwald

Following yesterday’s sad news that former teen heartthrob Luke Perry had passed away following a stroke, the actor’s former co-stars and Hollywood fans came together on social media to mourn the star and offer their condolences.

Actors and filmmakers who worked with Perry shared heartfelt messages on Twitter and Instagram.

Following the show’s production shutdown, his Riverdale family shared memories of the beloved father figure on The CW series — both on and off the screen.

Before Perry made his return to TV as an iconic TV dad, first he stole our hearts on Beverly Hills, 90210 as teen heartthrob Dylan. His former cast mates took to social media to remember their friend.

“I am in shock. Heartbroken. Devastated by the loss of my friend,” Shannen Doherty tells People in a statement. “I have so many memories with Luke that make me smile and that are forever imprinted on my heart and mind.”

While The CW reboot of 90210 brought new characters to the iconic zip code, the cast recalls the legacy of Perry and the original series.

Other Hollywood stars, filmmakers, co-stars, and friends shared their own memories of the actor, including Leonardo DiCaprio, who worked with Perry on Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which opens in theaters in July.

While all tributes were touching, actor Colin Hanks shared this especially moving anecdote about a sweet interaction he witnessed that showed how caring and compassionate Perry was as a person.
