There are many versions of Grogu (aka The Child aka Baby Yoda) available for sale. Some come with accessories like frogs or a soup cup. Others come with some version of the pram where he spends so much of his time on The Mandalorian. But now, for the first (and possibly only) time, you can buy a Grogu who comes in a pram that really hovers.
Mattel has partnered with ProjectArt to auction off this ultra-rare Floating Hover Pram, which spins as it hovers 2.5 inches off of its base. The pram also includes a plush inspired by The Child. The auction is open now on eBay, and will stay open until next Friday, March 5, at 9 a.m. PT. At the time of writing, the listing had 45 bids, with the current bid at $3,250.
All proceeds from the auction will go to ProjectArt, which is a program that partners with public libraries across the country to offer free, afterschool classes and artist residencies.
If you don’t quite have the units to go up against other bounty hunters who are seeking this one-of-a-kind collectible, don’t despair: Mattel will also offer some new Star Wars items on its Mattel Creations platform, starting on March 5.
There is a Star Wars The Mandalorian The Child Collector’s Edition Plush with Hover Pram, which includes a plush Grogu, control knob and Chowder Squid accessories, and a pram that doesn’t literally hover — but it does feature motorized doors that open and close at the touch of a button.
This version of The Child will only be available for one week, from 9 a.m. PT on March 5 to 9 a.m. PT on March 12.
At the same time (9 a.m. PT on March 5), Mattel will also open sales on limited-quantity sets of its Star Wars x Barbie dolls. These sets will include the previously released Rey, C-3PO, and Stormtrooper styles, all in collector packaging and signed by Barbie designer Robert Best.
