New Yorkers, unite! A powerful new comic book shop is heading your way.
The iconic comic shop Midtown Comics will open an outlet store in the Astoria neighborhood of Queens, New York, this weekend.
The store is meant to remind hardcore comic fans of the weekend warehouse sales that Midtown once held in the Long Island City neighborhood of Queens. With that in mind, the new store will only be open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
Midtown Comics boasts that the outlet will be reminiscent of old comic shops that had rows full of bins of back issues and rare vintage issues to discover. It says the new store will bring that nostalgic feeling with thousands of complete sets of back issues and Midtown-exclusive comics.
The oldest comic at the shop is from 1932 and will be displayed alongside comics spanning the decades and some super deals. Fans save up to 70% off graphic novels — watch out for rare first printings — manga, action figures, collectibles, and statues — as well as products from manufacturers, such as Gundam, Bandai, and more (oh my).
