At first glance, golf and Monopoly may not have a lot in common. But let’s be honest — They are both activities that take a LOT of time and a lot of strategy, but that many people love and enjoy as a pastime.
In that spirit, Hasbro has teamed up with golf equipment company Bettinardi Golf to launch a cross-branded collection that includes Monopoly-themed golf accessories and a Bettinardi version of the classic board game.
The product line will offer a variety of items, including putters, wedges, headcovers, metal accessories, bags, and apparel for golfers. All of the pieces will feature Monopoly imagery, including Mr. Monopoly, the colorful Monopoly money, and the game’s logo. The special Bettinardi Monopoly board, meanwhile, will be made entirely from one piece of metal. The board features the traditional Monopoly locations and spaces but says “Milled in the USA by Bettinardi” in the center, below the game logo.
Golfers can get these limited-edition items at the “The Hive” page on bettinardi.com over the course of three days, starting on Tuesday, Aug. 23 at 10 a.m. CT. Additional items will drop on Aug. 24 and 25, also at 10 a.m. CT. Bettinardi also plans to offer a “Game of Chance” purchasing opportunity, where shoppers can test their luck for a chance to get products.
