Pixar is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, and fans can join in all September long with the return of Pixar Fest, a virtual event that puts the spotlight on Pixar’s beloved characters and movies.
Starting tonight, Sept. 3, there is a schedule of Disney+ Pixar movie screenings each Friday: Up tonight, Toy Story 4 on Sept. 10, Coco on Sept. 17, Monsters, Inc. on Sept. 24, and Ratatouille on Oct. 1. Each Friday, Pixar fans are encouraged to watch that week’s movie on Disney+ and tweet along using the hashtag #PixarFest.
There is also some new Pixar content heading to Disney+ this month, starting with this week’s debut of the show Dug Days, a show that features the beloved pup from Up. There are SparkShort releases scheduled for Sept. 10 (Twenty Something) and Sept. 17 (Nona), followed by A Spark Story on Sept. 24.
In addition to this Disney+ content, Pixar has launched a challenge across TikTok and Instagram Reels this month, partnering with content creators including Phil Wright, Merrick Hanna, and actor Harry Shum Jr. In the challenge, fans are encouraged to recreate character poses themed to Pixar films.
Disney also partnered with Starlight Children’s Foundation to provide Pixar-themed hospital gowns for kids to celebrate this month of Pixar!
Of course, there is also plenty of adorable Pixar merch to help celebrate. One of the new launches for Pixar Fest is two new shirts from RSVLTS, pictured top. Set to drop on Sept. 7, one shirt is patterned with the iconic Luxo Ball while the other pays homage to the friendships of Pixar, featuring an intricate pattern with scenes inspired by Toy Story, Up, Monsters Inc., Wall-E, and more. The shirts will cost $65 each and will be available from rsvlts.com.
Other Pixar must-haves include a new set of Coco socks from Stance that are coming out this month, this adorable Boo’s door Loungefly bag, and this Pixar-inspired Citizen watch.
