It feels like a new fan convention, show, or movie is getting canceled every few minutes in the midst of concerns surrounding the global spread of COVID-19. While your plans for attending Emerald City Comic Con (ECCC) and WonderCon may be derailed, Wizard Entertainment is following the same gameplan as ECCC and offering online fan experiences to help compensate.
This online venture is set to launch later this month, with announcements still to come about inaugural celebrity guests and participating organizations. In place of celebrity meet and greets, fans will be able to purchase a 1-minute video chat and 15- or 30-second personalized video recordings. There will be signed photos and memorabilia, group chats, and limited-edition art, too. Some select session dates will also feature live video panels that fans will be able to livestream through the Wizard World website.
So far, Wizard Entertainment has not canceled any of its previously scheduled Wizard World conventions for this year.
Stay tuned for dates and additional details!
