[If it wasn’t obvious, spoilers ahead for the GoT finale!]
When the credits rolled for the final episode of Game of Thrones on Sunday night, fans saw the Stark siblings heading off to various corners of Westeros and the world: Bran ruling the Six Kingdoms, Sansa ruling the North, Jon presumably off to lead north of the wall, and Arya sailing off to figure out “what is west of Westeros?”
Arya’s fate in particular left many fans wondering if the character would receive her own spinoff series, following her adventures as an explorer.
Arya was the only good part of Season 8. Give us the spinoff. pic.twitter.com/fdqMgpLbUz

I'm down with a #GameOfThrones spinoff series following the adventures of Arya. Serious.

However, HBO‘s programming president, Casey Bloys, told the Hollywood Reporter that the network adamantly refuses to create a spinoff for Arya — or any Game of Thrones character.
“I don’t want to take characters from this world that [creators Dan Benioff and David Weiss] did beautifully and put them off into another world with someone else creating it,” Bloys says. “I want to let it be the artistic piece they’ve got. That’s one of the reasons why I’m not trying to do the same show over.”
Instead, he says, any additional HBO shows set in George R.R. Martin‘s A Song of Ice and Fire world will follow different characters.
So, we truly have said goodbye to the Starks — and everyone who survived GoT — for good. We’ll just have to imagine for ourselves what Arya found when she sailed into the unknown.
