ICYMI, The Pokémon Co. International is launching an extensive, Pokémon GO-themed expansion for the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) this summer. To celebrate this highly anticipated launch, the Pokémon GO app will also feature in-game events inspired by this collaboration.
The celebratory in-game events will kick off on June 16, when trainers will have the opportunity to catch a Pikachu wearing a Pokémon TCG-themed hat (this Pikachu will also appear in the Pokémon GO booster packs), find Mewtwo in five-star raids, and see Wimpod and Golisopod’s make their Pokémon GO debut. These events will only run until June 30, so be sure to catch ’em all!
But the TCG/in-game crossover doesn’t stop there. The Pokémon TCG: Pokémon GO products will all include promo codes that players can use to redeem prizes in the Pokémon GO app. The codes will unlock avatar items, such as a hat and T-shirt combo that matches the in-app Pikachu’s Pokémon TCG-themed hat. The codes included in the trading cards will be redeemable at this website from July 17, 2022, until July 31, 2024.
The full line of Pokémon TCG: Pokémon GO products will be available for purchase at participating retailers starting on July 1.
