In case you missed the Katy Perry music video featuring Pikachu or the various celebratory collectibles and apparel that have already hit virtual shelves this year: Pokémon is celebrating its 25th Anniversary. And now the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) is getting in on the celebratory action with a new anniversary collection from The Pokémon Company.
The Pokémon TCG: Celebrations collection will feature beloved characters from the franchise, as well as gameplay mechanics spanning the history of the game and popular card artwork. There are nine different products to choose from, including unique gameplay cards, a deluxe pin collection, a Celebrations collector chest, and more.
The collection also features Celebrations booster packs that each contain four specially designed cards, all featuring a 25th-anniversary logo and foil treatments. These cards picture characters from every region in the Pokémon universe, from Pikachu and Zamazenta to Professor Oak.
Additionally, the Celebrations collection includes the release of a special subset of 25 cards that are close remakes of iconic cards from the entire history of Pokémon TCG. Fans can search for Base Set Charizard, Umbreon, and Tapu Lele-GX. Pokémon is also releasing promo cards that will combine recently found Pokémon with popular forms, such as Light Pokémon, Delta Species, Pokémon, and Pokémon Star.
Parts of this collection will be available starting on Oct. 8, including a Dragapult Prime Collection, Lance’s Charizard V and Dark Sylveon V Collections, a Deluxe Pin Collection, an Elite Trainer Box, Mini Tins, and a Pikachu V-UNION Special Collection. On Oct. 22, The Pokémon Company will release a Premium Figure Collection Pikachu VMAX and an Ultra-Premium Collection. The Celebrations Collector Chest doesn’t have a specific release date yet but will also be available in October.
