The Pokémon Co.’s latest Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) expansions are epic, it’s all in black and white.
Scarlet & Violet: Black Bolt and Scarlet & Violet: White Flare are references to the generation five legendary Pokémon; Black Bolt refers to Dragon/Electric-type Zekrom, and White Flare to the Dragon/Fire-type Reshiram. The TCG expansions will feature the 156 Pokémon discovered from the Unova region, and players will be able to collect illustration rare or special illustration rare style cards from exclusive to these versions. There will also be three different parallel foil sets, two of which will be adorned with either a rainbow Poké Ball or Master Ball shimmering effect on the card.
Booster pack designs for the
Another unique feature of the expansion will be the Black White rare cards, which will feature illustrations with monochromatic black and white tones. The Scarlet & Violet: Black Bolt and White Flare cards will be available to purchase as booster packs, an Elite Trainer Box, a Binder Collection, a Unova Poster edition, a Unova mini tin, a Tech Sticker Collection, and a collection based on the Unovan Mythical Psychic/Fire-type pokémon, Victini. The Tech Sticker Collection, booster packs, and Victini bundle will launch in August, while the other editions will launch on July 18.
