It’s time for Pokémon fan artists to shine!
Today, The Pokémon Co. International and Creatures announced the Pokémon Trading Card Game Illustration Contest 2022, a fan art contest that trainers from the U.S. and Japan can enter for a chance to have their art featured on a promotional Pokémon card.
A part of the ongoing Pokémon 25th-anniversary celebration, this contest follows two similar ones that the company previously held in Japan. However, this is the first time that one of these contests will be open to U.S.-based fans.
Interested artists are invited to create art with the theme “the daily life of Pokémon.” The art must feature Bulbasaur, Charizard, Pikachu, Arcanine, Galarian Rapidash, Scizor, Greninja, and/or Cramorant as the focal point.
Entries for this contest will open on Oct. 13 and will stay open until Jan. 31. The winners will be announced next summer, with the grand prize winner taking home $5,000 in addition to getting their art on a card.
