A Rubik’s Cube, but make it geeky!
Today, Bandai America launched Charaction Cubes, a line of collectible figures that combine fandom with puzzling. While these toys have been available in Japan for a while, it is the first time they are being sold in the U.S. — part of the Rubik’s 40th anniversary celebration.
Basically these figures, pictured above, are made up of rotating pieces, similar to a Rubik’s cube. Fans can mix up the figure, then try to reassemble the character. Here’s a video from Megahouse, the company that produces the figures, that will give you a better idea of how they work.
The first wave of Charaction Cubes here in the U.S. is available to preorder today from Entertainment Earth and Amazon. They will then be available at mass, online, and specialty retailers starting on Aug. 21.
There are six characters to collect in this wave ($14.99 each): Mobile Suit Gundam RX-78-2, Dragon Ball Super Saiyan Blue Goku, Naruto Uzumaki, Dragon Ball Super Frieza Final Form, Mobile Suit Gundam MS-06 Zaku II, and Gudetama.
Really, the hardest puzzle is deciding which character to pick!
