Comic-Con International: San Diego (SDCC) is about to get muy épico. Masked Republic is heading to the convention with its biggest SDCC presence yet, spotlighting iconic luchadores, new art collaborations, and exclusive merchandise that celebrates the intersection of lucha libre, pop culture, and fandom.
At the center of the action is No. Booth 1901, where Masked Republic teams up with Headlocked Comics to showcase everything from comic signings and collectible posters to limited-edition releases and pop-up shops.
The four-day lineup includes:
- Dragon Lee’s Comic-Con Debut (Thursday, 2-4 p.m.): Signing Muñoz Dynasty: Dragon Lee & The Monster of Salty River — with signed copies and photos available ($25).
- Vampiro’s Daily Signings: Featuring rotating art exclusives, including a 3D poster and a Jorge R. Gutierrez-designed print.
- Jorge R. Gutierrez Print Signing (Friday, 2–5 p.m.): Featuring two handmade silkscreen posters — only 100 of each available.
- Fray Tormenta’s First-Ever U.S. Convention Appearance (Saturday, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.): Meet the legendary priest-luchador who inspired Nacho Libre.
- Pop-Up Shop Sunday: Featuring Southern California’s The Mighty Luchador and Rudos Revolution for one-day-only shopping.
Masked Republic isn’t just behind the booth — they’re also co-headlining Headlocked and Masked Republic: Taking Wrestling Beyond the Ring, a panel (Thursday 5:30-6:30 p.m., Room 10) spotlighting how wrestling’s storytelling magic translates across media.
Collectors can also score SDCC-first access to Cinelucha: The Board Game and dive into Boss Fight Studio’s Legends of Lucha Libre figures. For fans of lucha, comics, or bold genre storytelling, this is the booth to watch.Â
