As Comic-Con International: San Diego (SDCC) is in full swing, fans and collectors are exploring the San Diego Convention Center, looking for the hottest toys to bring home with them. While many collectors are experts at the toy brands they favor, not all former kids are as well-versed in the toys they loved growing up.
Nacelle, the media company behind Netflix’s The Movies That Made Us, Disney’s Behind the Attraction, Biker Mice from Mars, and RoboForce, is bringing back its hit series The Toys That Made Us.
The company produced three seasons of the series on Netflix from 2017-2019, featuring toys like Barbie, LEGO, My Little Pony, and more. Brian Volk-Weiss, CEO and Founder of Nacelle, will officially reveal the toys covered in the new episodes at the Toys That Made Us panel at SDCC tomorrow, July 27, from 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m. in room 6A at the San Diego Convention Center.
While release dates for the new seasons have yet to be announced, we already know that buckets of nostalgia for our favorite toys growing up are sure to accompany them.
UPDATE: At the panel on July 27, Nacelle announced the eight subjects of the two new seasons:
- Superhero Toys
- NERF
- Pokémon
- American Greetings (Strawberry Shortcake, My Pet Monster, Care Bears)
- Hot Wheels
- Ghostbusters
- Polly Pocket
- Fast Food Toys
While the first three seasons of the show are available on Netflix, Nacelle has not named a distributor for the new seasons.
