Don’t be fooled by appearances.
On second thought, the new G-Shock x One Piece Collab *is* everything that it seems to be.
The limited-edition GA110JOP-1A4 model watch is inspired by all things anime with its One Piece theme. It features a black theme to honor the show’s main character, Monkey D. Luffy. He’s on a never-ending journey to get better, but the accessory itself can’t be any greater. Emblazoned in red and gray, Luffy’s animated personality is shown throughout it.
At 3:00 the word “wanted” sits ready for action, across from it at 9:00, Luffy’s straw hat is hidden on the inset dial. When the hour and minute hands point to the 2 and 4, they create an x as an ode to Luffy’s x-shaped scar on his chest.
Not only does it look cool but it’s also pretty dang functional. The watch features shock resistance. 200-meter water resistance, a mute function, auto LED with afterglow, full-auto calendar, and a whole lot of other technical sounding things, which are probably useful but IDK what they mean.
