The late Stan Lee will be remembered, celebrated, and honored at a tribute event, “Excelsior! A Celebration of the Amazing, Fantastic, Incredible & Uncanny Life of Stan Lee,” on Jan. 30 at Hollywood’s TCL Chinese Theatre.
Excelsior! has two parts: First is a public tribute in the theatre forecourt, including an art exhibit by Rob Prior, costumes and props from Lee’s cameos and creations, a musical performance, and a moment of remembrance.
Following a red carpet arrival, the second part of the evening includes a private tribute inside the IMAX Theatre, hosted by Kevin Smith.
Smith will moderate conversations with celebrity speakers and industry creators who will share their personal memories and stories of Stan Lee, including Mark Hamill (Star Wars), Rob Liefeld (Deadpool co-creator), Michael Uslan (The Dark Knight executive producer), Vincent D’Onofrio (Daredevil), RZA, and Tom DeSanto (X-Men and Transformers producer).
The rest of the evening will include video tributes and live performances of Stan’s favorite movies and poetry.
A limited number of tickets will be on sale for fans, starting tonight at 5 p.m. PT / 8 p.m. ET. Fans can choose between the Adamantium Fan Pass ($150), which includes access to the forecourt events, the tributes, and a post-tribute reception, and the Vibranium Fan Pass ($200) which additionally includes preferred access to view the red carpet arrivals.
Both ticket levels include a commemorative poster, and all net ticket sales proceeds will benefit the Hero Initiative.
The event is officially hosted by Kevin Smith, Legion M, and Agents of Mayhem in partnership with Stan Lee’s POW! Entertainment.
