Here’s some news to make you want to sing: The Disney Channel original series The Proud Family is coming back with the original voice cast!
The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder is already in production and is set to be released on Disney+. The original show premiered almost 19 years ago and followed Penny Proud (Kyla Pratt) as she navigated the experience of being a teenager.
There is no plotline for the new series at this point but fans can expect to hear familiar voices. The characters we’ll see (and hear) again are Penny, her loyal parents Oscar and Trudy (Tommy Davidson and Paula Jai Parker), her grandmother Suga Mama (Jo Marie Payton), her uncle Bobby Proud (Cedric the Entertainer), and her faithful crew Dijonay Jones (Karen Malina White), LaCienega Boulevardez (Alisa Reyes), and Zoey Howzer (Soleil Moon Frye).
All of the previous episodes of the original series are available for binge-watching on Disney+ now. There’s no word yet if Solange and Destiny’s Child will be reuniting for the new theme song (but keep your fingers crossed).
