Back at Comic-Con International: San Diego (SDCC) 2018, Marvel revealed details for a book called Marvel Studios: The First Ten Years. Written by Tara Bennett and Paul Terry and published by Abrams Books, this massive, hardcover, two-volume book was slated to be a definitive guide to the first decade of Marvel’s box office domination. It promised interviews, behind-the-scenes content, and even a look at the “untitled Avengers sequel” that would become Avengers: Endgame. Despite having preorder links and even making The Pop Insider’s Marvel gift guide for that holiday season, the book never actually came out.

Flash forward three years, and this must-have guide to the MCU is finally seeing the light of day. As Marvel revealed yesterday, the book has gotten a bit of a rebrand: It is now titled The Story of Marvel Studios: The Making of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Many of the book’s details have stayed the same: It’s still written by Bennett and Terry, and it’s still being published by Abrams Books. The massive anthology still spans two volumes, but now it’s set to include detailed information about all 23 MCU movies in the Infinity Saga, from Iron Man (2008) to Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019).

Despite the three-year delay, this book definitely seems worth the wait. Its features include a forward by Kevin Feige, an afterword by Robert Downey Jr., more than 200 interviews, previously unpublished behind-the-scenes photography, archival production material, and even personal photos and memorabilia from the cast and crew. The volumes also come inside a slipcase with an original, wraparound concept art montage by Ryan Meinerding.

The Story of Marvel Studios doesn’t officially debut until Oct. 19, but it is available to preorder now for $150.
