The cosmic adventures of Thor will soon continue, and now there’s finally a teaser to prove it!
Marvel Studios dropped the first teaser trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder this morning, kicking off a new week with the epic return of Asgard’s mighty God of Thunder, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and yes — another worthy wielder of Mjölnir. And, it all comes wrapped in a nice little package set to the soundtrack of Guns ‘n Roses’ “Sweet Child ‘O Mine.” Check it out!
In Thor: Love and Thunder, the titular Avenger (Chris Hemsworth) embarks on a journey toward inner peace that is interrupted by Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), an intergalactic killer who seeks to eliminate all Gods.
As the battle begins, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (director Taika Waititi), and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who — to Thor’s surprise — inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjölnir as the Mighty Thor.
Now, after getting a glimpse at Thor’s workout routine to rebound from his Fortnite-playing “Bro Thor” days, I’m feeling pretty motivated to start using that Planet Fitness membership that I haven’t used since the pre-pandemic era of Feb. 2020. I wonder if shopDisney will offer sleeveless spiked vests this summer?
But while we’re talking merch, Hasbro has officially unveiled its lineup of Marvel Legends Series action figures and roleplay items inspired by Thor: Love and Thunder. The 6-inch scale Legends figures feature premium sculpting, deco, and articulation. The wave includes Thor, Ravager Thor, Groot, Gorr, King Valkyrie, and Star-Lord. Most figures in the wave (all but Thor) include Build-A-Figure pieces that can be used to create a Korg figure.
Additionally, Hasbro will release a Marvel Legends Series Mighty Thor Mjolnir Electronic Hammer. The premium, 1:1 scale replica of the hammer wielded by Mighty Thor (Natalie Portman) features crack lines across the hammerhead and push-button sound effects. Hasbro’s next wave of Marvel Legends drops April 26 as Hasbro Pulse and most retailers.
Thor: Love and Thunder rocks its way into theaters on July 8.
