In 2010, footwear brand Vans teamed up with Crayola to deliver a colorful “back to school”-inspired sneaker collection. More than a decade later, the unlikely duo has come together once again, this time taking the collaboration one step further.
The new Crayola x Vans capsule collection includes a variety of shoes, apparel, and accessories that feature designs influenced by classic Crayola art. Ranging from cotton T-shirts and hoodies embellished with hand-drawn illustrations to a backpack and hat with printed details, each of the items is accented with signature Vans patterns, drawn in the classic look of Crayola art.
The shoes in this collection include Authentic Van Doren Inspired and Authentic DIY/Sketch Your Way sneakers, which feature coloring-book style repeat prints. With the ComfyCush Sk8-Hi show, fans are invited into the drawing room to design the sneakers of their dreams. The white shoe is a completely blank, cotton canvas. The Vans Classic Slip-On and the SK8-Hi shoes in this collection also feature textured rubber soles for crayon rubbings. All of these sneakers present endless opportunities for customization — all you need is your imagination and a pack of Crayola crayons!
The Crayola and Vans collection will be available globally at Vans retailers and vans.com beginning on Feb. 18. That mean you have plenty of time to start workshopping designs, sneakerheads!
