The year may be winding down, but the Return of the Jedi 40th anniversary excitement is not. VeVe is commemorating the iconic Star Wars movie’s birthday with a new collection of digital comic book covers from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi #1!
The collection features the original cover for the comic, designed by Bill Sienkiewicz, who also created a new VeVe Variants Cover along with three other covers from Brian Rood, Nicoletta Baldari, and Diogo Saito.

In this comic, Darth Vader checks in on the Death Star II’s development while the Rebels work to rescue Han Solo from Jabba the Hutt. The five covers included in the drop include the common original cover, which features Luke Skywalker, Lando Calrissian, and Leia Organa as they attempt to rescue Han Solo from Jabba the Hutt; the uncommon Diogo Saito variant, which features Luke facing off against the rancor; the rare Nicoletta Baldari variant, which shows Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader facing off in the emperor’s throne room; the ultra-rare Brian Rood variant, which shows Darth Vader sweeping off of his ST 321 shuttle; and the secret rare Sienkiewicz variant, which features Jabba the Hutt, Bib Fortuna, and Salacious B. Crumb.
The comics will be available on VeVe starting Dec. 15 at 8 a.m. PT in blind box waitlist format for $6.99 each. Each comic variant will also be eligible for a free, redeemable digital poster replica of the comic cover fans receive.
