People are scared of things that are different, but our fellow outcasts can embrace the unusual with the first-ever — and the last-ever — licensed Edward Scissorhands clothing collection inspired by the 1990 Tim Burton film.
Clap your hands (or should we say scissors?) together for the newest collection from Vixen by Micheline Pitt, officially launching today. This is the first and only time a women’s fashion collection has been made for the film, and we have your first in-depth look at the line.
Vixen by Micheline Pitt is an LA-based design house known for vintage-style apparel. This is founder and designer Micheline Pitt’s third Tim Burton collection, with previous collections from her other brand, La Femme en Noir, inspired by Corpse Bride and Sleepy Hollow. Pitt even walked down the aisle to Edward Scissorhands‘ “Ice Dance” song at her wedding.
The Edward Scissorhands collection features a variety of clothing, accessories, and handbags inspired by the film’s whimsical design, iconic characters, and memorable moments. The inclusive clothing comes in a range of sizes from XS-4XL.
Some noteworthy pieces include a white Ice Dance Dress to replicate the moment when Edward (played by Johnny Depp) trims an angel ice sculpture while Kim (played by Winona Ryder) twirls underneath the falling snow; a dress and a skirt in a “I am not complete” novelty print featuring robots and cookies; a dress and a skirt in a “suburban topiary” print featuring Edward’s topiary creations and the neighborhood’s pastel houses; and two styles of dresses in a wallpaper novelty print with flowy chiffon sleeves.
Fans can also look for a black cropped sweatshirt and a wisteria-colored cropped hoodie with movie-inspired graphics on them for more casual looks.
Edward is all about his accessories, and the collection also includes a screen-accurate, faux-leather body harness modeled after the one Edward wears in the film, as well as a moon buckle belt modeled after the buckle on his harness.
Finally, there are two handbags to choose from. The Topiary Dino Bag is modeled after the topiary creatures that Edward creates with his scissor hands. The bag is covered in green sherpa to mimic the texture of shrubbery and features 3D scissor hand charms, a novelty print lining, and an interior pocket. The Snow Globe Bag pays homage to the snow globe prop from the film and features an image of Edward’s face, the movie logo, and faux snow that falls freely over his haunted home and an ice figure.
The Edward Scissorhands collection launches today, June 10, at noon ET at Vixen by Micheline Pitt with prices ranging from $34-220. Get your scissor hands on it while you can because it will be the only officially licensed fashion collection based on the film.
