Labyrinth Jareth Gown with Matching Cape and Sarah Goblin Ball Gown | Source: Vixen by Micheline Pitt

Just fear me, love me, do as I say…

Vixen by Micheline Pitt is collaborating with the Jim Henson Co. for a luxe fashion line inspired by Jim Henson’s Labyrinth. The cult classic film came out in 1986, starring Jennifer Connelly as 16-year-old Sarah, who has 13 hours to solve a labyrinth and rescue her baby brother after the Goblin King Jareth, played by David Bowie, grants her wish to take him away.

The limited-edition collection features original concept art from some of the most iconic characters and their costumes, as well as original artwork by Iris Compiet from Insight Editions’ official Jim Henson’s Labyrinth: Bestiary book.

The pieces range from dresses and skirts to tops and sweatsuits. The centerpiece is the Sarah Goblin Ball Gown in Pearlescent White from the Masquerade Ball for $450. The intricate dress captures Sarah’s gown from the film with vintage glass beads, real freshwater pearls, and five layers of fabric in the bodice (lace, organza, satin, and a backing for the beadwork). The neckline has elastic at the shoulders to wear off the shoulder and both the sleeves and the skirt have multiple layers of tulle, lace, and iridescent organza for a fairytale princess silhouette. Only 125 pieces will be available due to the nature of the material and beadwork.

There is also a lower-price option to wear Sarah’s vest with a matching amber brooch for $98, with a gold metallic filigree patterned fabric designed to match the outfit seen on screen. The Jareth Gown brings the drama with a matching cape in midnight blue for $280, made with iridescent midnight blue knit jersey lurex that shines like the Goblin Kings’ Ballroom outfit did in the film.

There is a Renaissance dress ($188) and skirt ($108) in a Labyrinth watercolor print featuring the Labyrinth and Goblin City against a watercolor sky from original hand watercolor concept pieces from the film’s original matte paintings. If you look closely, you’ll find Hoggle, Ludo, Sir Didymus on his trusty steed Ambrosia, the blue worm, Sarah, her red Labyrinth book, the Goblin Ball Gown music box, a floating clock, several goblins, and the Goblin King hidden away in the shadows. Two dresses are available in a Tangerine Fireys print that uses watercolor art from the book: a long version for $198 and a shorter version for $178.

There are more affordable pieces as well, such as two poster sweatshirts for under $70 and matching tie-dye sweatpants for $58. All of the clothing is available in a range of sizes from XS to 4XL. The one bag in the collection is inspired by Ludo the gentle giant, designed in a crossbody style with a brass chain and a textured, pebble faux leather body with embroidered features for $98.

The collection is available to preorder now at Vixen with estimated shipping in October. Some of the preorders are selling out, so check it out now if you’re a fan of Jim Henson’s Labyrinth.
