Last night — during the middle of the weirdest Emmy Awards ceremony to ever take place — Disney+ finally premiered a trailer for the upcoming Marvel series WandaVision.
The series will be the first Marvel show exclusively available to stream on Disney+ and in true Marvel fashion, we know virtually nothing about it. The trailer below depicts Wanda and Vision adjusting to suburban life and gives off major I Love Lucy and Bewitched vibes, with a chunk of confusion thrown in for good measure.
WandaVision is set to premiere sometime before the end of this year, but there’s still no official premiere date. It stars Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany, who both reprise their roles as Wanda Maximoff and Vision as seen in the Avengers films. But this time, the duo are hard at work on homemaking, rather than saving the world from alien invasions.
Fans are still trying to figure out what all this means for the MCU after the events of Endgame. Disney+ teased in a press release that everything is not as it seems — and thanks to the cackling Kathryn Hahn, I believe them. The show seems to have an eerie tone, and judging by the trailer, it looks like fans are in for more of a psychological thriller than a traditional superhero show.
