Can’t decide if you should play Magic: The Gathering or Final Fantasy? The need to pick is long and gone with Wizards of the Coast’s Magic: The Gathering — Final Fantasy. These fantasy card sets will feature the largest collection of artwork from the Final Fantasy franchise, plus new additions to the Magic card line.
Players can truly immerse themselves in fantasy worlds with cards featuring classic Final Fantasy art pieces and cards with Magic artists’ interpretations of the franchise in their own unique styles. The Final Fantasy set will feature fan-favorite stories, characters, and moments, plus the series’ icons on more than 100 legendary creature cards.
Alongside unique artwork, the card collection features special content inspired by the franchise. Magic: The Gathering introduces its first-ever saga creatures, in which players can call the summons for aid in battle, plus the return of double-cards. Players can cast the card’s front side for its mana cost and conditions and then transform it to reveal its alternate form.
Looking to expand your card collection? The set will include Borderless Character cards, featuring 55 legendary characters on eye-popping backgrounds, and Borderless Woodblock cards, which use traditional Japanese paintings to display intricate artwork of the summons.
Consumers can also experience more Final Fantasy elements with commander decks, secret lair drops, and Final Fantasy Through the Ages, in which iconic Magic cards form a Bonus Sheet of existing artwork from the series.
The Magic: The Gathering — Final Fantasy card collection will launch on June 13, and consumers can preorder now at magicthegathering.com.
