Sonic the Hedgehog and Friends are racing into 2025 with two collabs: the DC Universe and LEGO. Sonic and his cohorts will crossover the Justice League and don the suits themselves; the spiny mammals will also get the brick treatment in two new LEGO sets, available Jan. 1.
Sonic’s light-speed dash into the DC Universe debuts in March. The SEGA characters will star in five monthly comics written by Ian Flynn (DC is keeping the artist under wraps for now.). While the gang will interact with the Justice League as we know them now, the series will include a mashup, with Shadow as Batman, Knuckles as Superman, Amy as Wonder Woman, Sonic as The Flash, Silver as Green Lantern, and Tails as Cyborg. A collected edition, merchandise, apparel, toys, collectibles, accessories, and more will accompany the comics, and SEGA plans to honor the series through additional celebrations through 2026.
LEGO’s latest spin dash into Sonic’s world includes Sonic’s Campfire Clash and Super Shadow vs. Biolizard. The sets join Super Sonic vs. Egg Drillster, for ages 8 and up, released in August. Sonic’s Campfire Clash ($19.99) has 177 pieces and a Sonic minifigure. Kids and collectors can build a campfire and a Speed Sphere. The set includes a Chaos Emerald and three Gold Rings. Super Shadow vs. Biolizard ($44.99) has 419 pieces and features Super Shadow and Super Sonic minifigures. Kids can defend Space Colony ARK from the Biolizard, built with LEGO bricks; they can also build a speed sphere launcher and speed sphere, and a Chaos Emerald.
Fans can purchase Super Sonic vs. Egg Drillster ($77.99) in stores and online now. The 590-piece set includes Super Sonic, Shadow, and Dr. Eggman minifigures. LEGO bricks build the Egg Drillster, hover vehicle, and a Speed Sphere launcher.
Impatient fans can see Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Shadow in theaters Dec. 20 for Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
