Anime fans can head to the movies to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Kiki’s Delivery Service from Studio Ghibli and director Hayao Miyazaki.
Kiki’s Delivery Service — featuring the voices of Kirsten Dunst, Janeane Garofalo, Phil Hartman, and Debbie Reynolds — will be re-released in select theaters across the U.S. for three days only. The film follows a young witch who uses her broom to create a delivery service — only to lose her ability to fly in a moment of self-doubt.
The re-release is part of GKids and Fathom Events’ Studio Ghibli Fest 2019, an ongoing event that aims to bring nine of Studio Ghibli’s animated films back into the public eye.
Fans can purchase tickets for Kiki’s Delivery Service on fathomevents.com, ghiblifest.com, or at participating theater box offices. A complete list of theater locations is available on the Fathom Events website but get there quickly because the movie will only play on Sunday, July 28; Monday, July 29; and Wednesday, July 31.
Her Universe is also joining in on the anniversary fun with a Kiki-inspired line of clothing and accessories, including T-shirts, dresses, backpacks, and more.
