Getting rewarded for spending money on video games and pop culture merch almost sounds too good to be true, but that’s exactly the point of GameStop‘s PowerUp rewards program.
While the rewards program isn’t new, the gaming retailer just reworked its pro-level offerings to give frequent shoppers even better benefits and more value for their membership.
GameStop offers two levels of its PowerUp rewards. The free PowerUp Rewards Player level offers 10 points for every dollar spent, which gamers can redeem for gift certificates or charitable donations.
The paid, pro membership now offers two membership levels: $19.99 annually (includes a physical subscription to Game Informer magazine) or $14.99 annually (includes a digital subscription to Game Informer magazine). With the pro subscription, gamers get 20 points per dollar spent and 10% extra trade credit on games, accessories, and tech, plus a ton of new perks.
The new perks include a $5 monthly coupon (Do the math — that’s $60 each year!), an instant $5 rewards certificate as a welcome gift, and access to exclusive offers and savings during special Pro Day sales.
