The world might be upside down, but anime will always be there for us.
I’m not just talking about the countless hours you can spend binge-watching My Hero Academia to pass time during quarantine, but also the relentless ways fans can band together. Funimation is celebrating anime fans with a new virtual con from July 3-4.
The free con will host panels, cosplay “meetups,” forums, and more. Fans can be the first to know additional details by signing up for notifications at FunimationCon.com.
“FunimationCon is a chance for us to give back to a community which has supported us for over 25 years by re-imagining the convention experience,” said Colin Decker, the general manager of Funimation. Last year was highly successful for the distribution company as it grossed more than $13 million at the box office with My Hero Academia: Hero Rising. Now, the company feels, it’s time to give back to the community and provide some killer content.
