Well if you weren’t planning to get HBO Max before, you might want to reconsider. Because, against ALL odds, they are releasing! The! Snyder! Cut!
Yes, you read that right.
Next year, Warner Bros. will exclusively premiere Zack Snyder’s version of the 2017 movie Justice League on the HBO Max streaming platform.
The #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement has been an ongoing internet chant from DC fans — and even Justice League cast members — for more than three years now, after many were displeased with the final version of Justice League that premiered following Snyder’s departure from the film during post-production due to a family emergency.
“I want to thank HBO Max and Warner Brothers for this brave gesture of supporting artists and allowing their true visions to be realized,” Snyder said in an official statement from Warner Media. “Also a special thank you to all of those involved in the SnyderCut movement for making this a reality.”
There isn’t a specific release date for the Snyder Cut at this point — just some time in 2021 — but the HBO Max platform is launching next week, on May 27. The site will feature a library of DC content, including Doom Patrol and other DC Universe originals.
Wow. Finally some good news in 2020.
