The Lich King and his legion of Scourge are back, but this time they’re coming to game night!
Today, Blizzard Entertainment and Z-Man Games teased a new board game crossover that will merge World of Warcraft with the popular cooperative board game series Pandemic. Specifically inspired by the Wrath of the Lich King expansion, this licensed version of Pandemic is set to arrive later this year.
There aren’t a ton of details available about the game yet, but fans can expect more in the coming weeks. Z-Man did drop a trailer as part of the announcement, which gives a first look at some of the figures and the board.
The trailer specifically calls Wrath of the Lich King a “Pandemic System Board Game,” which means that fans shouldn’t literally expect their WoW faves to battle an infectious disease. Instead, this title will use the same game mechanics as the Pandemic games, with players trying to stop the Lich King and his army from spreading to various locations (instead of stopping the spread of mysterious illnesses, as they do in the main Pandemic games).
The trailer teases some of the locations that will feature in the game, including Icecrown Citadel, The Breach, Terrace of the Makers, and the Vault of Archavon.
Stay tuned for more information about this game!
