Disney•Pixar’s Incredibles 2 officially stretched past the $1 billion mark at the global box office.
According to Deadline, the sequel is the seventh animated film ever (!) to make $1 billion in theaters worldwide. The movie made $574 million domestically and $430.9 million internationally, and is still opening in new markets.
Incredibles 2 is the ninth biggest overall release in U.S. history, among franchises such as Star Wars, Marvel, and Jurassic World, and is the only animated film in the top 10.
This comes as no surprise, as the movie has the biggest animated debut of all time in the U.S. and performed better than the original film, which was released in 2004.
