Spider-Man first made his comic book debut 60 years ago. Since then, superhero fans have fallen in love with his witty personality and admired his aspirational heroism. To pay homage to six decades of the iconic web-slinger, Marvel has launched the Spider-Man “Beyond Amazing” campaign. From now through December, fans can add new Spidey merch to their collections, visit pop-up experiences, attend fan events, explore an immersive exhibition at the Comic-Con Museum in San Diego, and more.
To kick off the celebration, Marvel has partnered with the global lifestyle brand Kith for a new apparel and accessories collection. The designs feature archival artwork from the Spider-Man comics to showcase the evolution of the iconic character. The Marvel x Kith adult collection includes 400 GSM cotton fleece hoodies, intarsia knit sweaters, and vintage T-shirts in long-sleeve and short-sleeve options. The 16-piece kids’ collection features similar designs on sweaters, T-shirts, hoodies, and lounge sets. Fans can also get their hands on a variety of lifestyle goods from Kith, including skateboard decks, posters, puzzles, and more. The collection is available to shop from the Kith website beginning on July 15.
The collection offers a variety of other memorabilia, too, including figures, illustrations, comic books, and more. Fans who purchase any of the items will receive a copy of the limited-edition Marvel x Kith Spider-Man comic book. This comic showcases an original story featuring Spider-Man as he stops Doctor Octopus from wreaking havoc on New York City with his robot army. The comic also features cameos from other characters, including Iron Man and Kith-founder Ronnie Fieg. The comic will first release on July 11, and then have a second release coinciding with the launch of the entire collection on July 15.
Spidey fans can shop the Kith collection online or at a 3-day pop-up experience in Peter Parker’s hometown of Queens, New York. The event will run from July 15-17, offering fans the chance to peruse a curated selection of Spider-Man memorabilia, including apparel, action figures, original illustrations, Kith’s original comic book, and more.
This August, 20 new “Beyond Amazing” variant covers will also adorn some of Marvel’s hottest comic book titles. Some of the industry’s greatest artists banded together to celebrate all aspects of Spider-Man’s beloved mythos with this new artwork.
Spider-Man has appeared in countless forms across pop culture, and video games are no different. In collaboration with Nixxes Software, Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales are launching on PC for the first time as part of the “Beyond Amazing” celebration. Fans can play as Peter Parker in Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered beginning on August 12, while Miles Morales will make his PC debut this fall.
A variety of other “Beyond Amazing” merch will launch throughout the year from licensees including LEGO, Funko, Jazwares, Bioworld, Hasbro, and Adidas. Fans can follow @spiderman for the latest updates on all things Spidey!
