Mondo‘s new Mondo Squads line of figure sets is a real scream.
The collectibles company added some Nickelodeon icons to its latest offering, with two exclusive sets dedicated to Aaahh!!! Real Monsters. The three-figure regular edition features 6- to 8-inch models of main characters Ickis, Oblina, and Krumm. An exclusive set includes additional characters and pieces. Both sets are expected to ship in January – and celebrate the show’s 30th anniversary.
While both sets include figures of Ickis, Oblina, and Krumm, the exclusive set consists of a Krum Open Mouth Figure, Ickis Scary Swappable Portrait, Ickis Scary Swappable Arms, Oblina Guts Out Swappable Portrait, Bontsy, Zimbo, and three clear figure stands. Both sets include several swappable portraits of the main characters. Between both sets, fans can easily recreate the opening of the iconic Nicktoons series. Both sets are limited runs of 1,000 units.
Nickelodeon’s Aaahh!!! Real Monsters debuted in 1994 and ran for four seasons with 52 episodes. The animated comedy followed three young monsters learning to frighten humans. Together they attended the Monster Academy beneath a New York City landfill. While they worked at night to scare, these figures are not dependent on the absence of the sun to dredge up nostalgia.
Monster Academy students can pre-order the regular set for $125 or an exclusive set for $150 at mondoshop.com.
