Grab your hats, your badges, and maybe a milkshake — because the Wild West is getting weird again.
The Nacelle Company is bringing Wild West C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa out of the cartoon vault and straight into the heart of Comic-Con International: San Diego (SDCC). The cult-favorite ‘90s franchise is returning with an animated series, retro-stylized action figures, and a comic book prequel that all tie into the growing NacelleVerse, a shared universe that includes RoboForce and Biker Mice from Mars.
SDCC attendees can giddy-up over to Booth No. 2547 for an early shot at wrangling the C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa action figure line, now available for preorder. Each 7-inch figure features 21 points of articulation, interchangeable heads and hands, and signature accessories straight from the original series. Marshal Moo Montana ($39.99) comes with his harmonica, iconic hat, and two revolvers; Cowlamity Kate ($39.99) includes a sword and lassos; and Sheriff Terrorbull ($39.99) comes fully equipped with two pistols, smoke effects, and handcuffs. Each figure is accessorized with a mug of sarsaparilla. Superfans can also opt for the deluxe bundle ($104.97), which includes all three figures in special collector-friendly packaging.
Created in 1991 by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles artist Ryan Brown, C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa originally aired on ABC and inspired a line of toys, comics, and an arcade game. Now, it’s reimagined with the same Nacelle polish fans have seen across its other animated reboots, with serialized storytelling, modern visuals, and deeper character arcs. And yes, it’s all canon within the NacelleVerse timeline.
Need more backstory before the show hits? A four-issue comic miniseries, C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa: Origins, launches this September via Oni Press. The prequel explores how the legendary law cows first teamed up after a mysterious comet transformed the Western frontier into Moo Mesa.
