A classic video game is getting a fresh spin — literally. As the 20th anniversary of Viva Piñata approaches, Materia Collective is taking the party to your stereo with a re-imagined version of the game’s whimsical score.
Rare Treats: Viva Piñata Revisited features all the jaunty jams fans know and love from the series, newly enhanced by the game’s original composer, Grant Kirkhope. Performed by the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, these 25 tracks celebrate the cozy charm and silly spectacle that made the game a smash hit for the last two decades. The album will be available for streaming and as a collectible vinyl record, starting Jan. 9.

The exclusive double LP features a unique pressing exploding with colorful confetti, all housed in a beautiful gatefold jacket designed by one of the game’s original artists, Steve Mayles. Inside, fans will find liner notes from Justin Cook, Viva Piñata’s lead designer, offering listeners a behind-the-scenes look at the album’s creation. Whether you’re tending a garden, throwing a bash, or cozying up for a replay, this collectible is the perfect way to celebrate the beloved adventure.
