Last month marked one year since the death of legendary Marvel Comics creator and cameo all-star Stan Lee. To further commemorate and celebrate Lee’s legacy, ABC News plans to air a primetime special on Dec. 20 titled “Celebrating Marvel’s Stan Lee.”
The one-hour production will feature stars sharing their memories of Lee in front of a live audience at the New Amsterdam Theater in New York City. The special will also take viewers through Lee’s life and career, showing never-before-seen interviews and footage of the Spider-Man co-creator from the Marvel and ABC News archives.
The participating celebrities range from MCU actors, such as Tom Hiddleston and Cobie Smulders to late-night host Jimmy Kimmel to executives, including Disney’s Bob Iger and Marvel’s Kevin Feige. Some of the other featured stars sharing their memories include Paul Bettany, Ming-Na Wen, Saquon Barkley, Mark Hamill, Method Man, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, Lauren Ridloff, Kevin Smith, Deborah Ann Woll, Joe Quesada, Seth Green, C.B. Cebulski, Todd McFarlane, and Gerry Conway. Actor Clark Gregg (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D) is slated to host the event.
To watch the special, Marvel fans can tune in to ABC from 8-9 p.m. ET on Dec. 20.
