What do Marvel, LEGO, and Crayola have in common? All of these companies have teamed up with Adidas to create some awesome collections. Now, Mattel is joining in on the action, racing into a new Adidas collection inspired by Hot Wheels.
Adidas joined forces with LA-based designer Sean Wotherspoon to create the Hot Wheels collaboration. The drop features a race-inspired collection of apparel, accessories, and footwear, which display bold graphics on classic automotive memorabilia.
Among the apparel are a race jacket, a long-sleeved mesh T-shirt, a cotton T-shirt, and trail shorts. Some of these pieces display the Hot Wheels logo on bold, blue fabric, while the off-white cotton T-shirt and trail shorts feature a sun design made out of the Hot Wheels logo. The race jacket also has a number of patches adorning the sleeves, including a racing flag and the number “03.”
There are two types of footwear in the collection: the updated Superturf Adventure shoe and a new take on the classic Adilette sliders. The Superturf Adventure shoe is white with splashes of bright colors, along with detachable patches on the back. Among the patches are the Hot Wheels logo, Wotherspoon’s peace-sign signature, and an image of the Earth. The blue Adilette sliders feature the same sun design as the cotton T-shirt, with Wotherspoon’s signature in the center and Hot Wheels logos surrounding it.
The collection doesn’t stop there. Hot Wheels fans can don a bucket hat with embroidered embellishments, including Wotherspoon’s Round 2 store logo, his designer signature, the Hot Wheels logo, and the sun design. Fans can also carry around their new apparel in a reversible tote bag displaying the Adidas logo and the text “It’s Not the Same Without the Flame” on one side, with Wotherspoon’s sun design on the other.
The apparel, accessories, and sliders in the Adidas x Hot Wheels collection are available to shop starting today, exclusively on the Confirmed app and in Wotherspoon’s Round 2 store. The new Superturf Adventure shoes will be available to shop at select retailers and on adidas.com beginning on Aug. 25.
