Avatar the Last Airbender is really having a moment. With a new live-action Netflix adaptation on the way, a companion podcast available now, and plenty of new merch, this beloved universe of benders has plenty to offer both long-time and new fans alike.
Now, popular characters from Avatar Legends (a new label that encompasses both Avatar the Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra) are heading to a whole new realm. Not the Spirit World, but the blockchain.
Paramount has partnered with Funko for the next release of Digitial Pop! collectibles. These non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are digital cards that will depict Avatar Legends characters — including Kuruk, Painted Lady, and Fire Nation Aang — in Funko’s signature Pop! style.
Fans will be able to purchase either Standard Packs ($9.99) or Premium Packs ($29.99), which contain a surprise assortment of digital cards. Within either pack type, fans may discover a rare Funko Digital Pop! that they can redeem for a free, limited-edition physical Pop! figure of that character.
Each pack type will be limited to 31,250 pieces, for a total of 625,000 NFTs. These Avatar Legends collectibles will be available to purchase exclusively through the Droppp.io platform using a Droppp account and a credit card. The Digital Pops! will drop on Tuesday, Aug. 9, at 11 a.m. PT/2 p.m. ET.
